Consider
Accidents do happen, and knowing what to do when one occurs can mean the difference between saving and losing a tooth.
Overview
An injury to your teeth or gums should never be ignored, since it can lead to permanent damage as well as more extensive and expensive treatment later.
Dr. Davis understands that emergencies happen. Here are a number of typical emergency situations that might arise.
Broken Tooth -- While scarry, if there is no pain just call in the morning and we will work you in to asses the condition and discuss your options for repair.
Filling Falls Out -- If there is no pain then just wait to come in or call the answering service 713-784-2800. You can also fix it yourself by going to any drugstore and buy temporary filling material. This will work till you can get to our office.
Tooth Knocked Out -- If you can locate the tooth then immediately place it into a glass of milk. Then if you can get to our office (or any dentist within 20 minutes) we may be able to replace the tooth into the socket. If the tooth is just displaced you may be able to push it back into place yourself and come immediately to our office.
Abscess or Toothache -- This usually requires prescription medication; however, you can get some over-the-counter relief from your local pharmacy.
Broken Crown -- There is usually no pain when a crown breaks; however, in some cases where you must go out into the public, you can glue the broken piece back on with super glue.
Broken Veneer -- same as broken crown.
Broken Bonding -- same as broken crown.
